Shoutout Atlanta!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carol Yung, MBA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carol, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?

My favorite affirmation that is written in pink on the mirror in my bathroom is “Be the change you want to see in the world and BE BOLD enough to get to your dreams!” The reason why I love these affirmations is because to me it means that I have to be a living example of being a good person and the things that I would like to see happen in the world and in my life all start with me. The second part of this affirmation, “BE BOLD” to get to your dreams is a pivotal part of how I live my life. I am BOLD for all things that are positive and uplifting. Once I changed my mindset and understood that my goal should be to positively impact the world one person at a time it alleviated a burden of harping on the challenging times in this journey that we call life. This also fulfills my longing of living a meaningful and purpose driven life.

What should our readers know about your business?

The name of my business is called Cabby’s Crafty Baskets. The name comes from my nickname “Cabby” and the fact that I am very crafty. What sets me apart from others is the uniqueness of my gift baskets. My gift baskets are all customized and created with love. It is also apart of my belief that I can positively impact the world one person at a time. Through each gift or gift basket both the recipient and the buyer both receive either joy, love, or a feeling of appreciation that someone thought enough of them to get them a special gift. I got here because of my determination to be my own boss and create a legacy for my children. It has not been that easy, but I have a way to make it appear to be easy. The biggest challenge in my company is retaining top talent. There is a certain type of team member that I look for when hiring. Above all, I look for someone who exudes positivity and is excited to do meaningful and impactful work. You may think that I only sell gifts and gift baskets, but that’s not entirely true. I sell an experience! My gift baskets equate to ministry for me and spreading love, positivity and opening up people’s minds to different perspectives.

I am also the Founder and CEO of BE BOLD Institute. I am a Certified Transformational Coach and a Business Consultant. I am living my life to the fullest and want to positively impact the world.

I created the “8 Steps To BE BOLD enough to get to your DREAMS” because I believe that everything you need to obtain your DREAMS are already inside of you. Once you’ve found it, you can align all areas of your life to point in that direction. It is possible to do what you love and live in flow — you just need to overcome your fear, evolve your mindset, and take actionable steps to get you there all while positively impacting the world one person at a time.

In October we had a “BE BOLD Workshop” event that was FREE to the public because I knew just how important the knowledge presented would be and that it needed to be accessible to all. We made the impossible possible!

“Be the Change You Wish to See in the World” is a motto that I live by.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

We would go to visit the Old Lady Gang Southern Cuisine on Peters Street. We would get massages at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. I would take her to Atlantic Station and Lenox mall to shop. We would go to Sweetwater Creek State Park to chill on the lake. We would go out with my family and in-laws to a family-favorite authentic Chinese Restaurant for Dim Sum called Oriental Pearl Seafood Restaurant. I would take her on the Silver Comet trail to ride bikes and scooters. We would visit Juicy Crab despite me not being a seafood lover. I love their shrimp and eggs in the plastic bag with the corn, potatoes, andouille sausage, and the delicious juice flavor. We would also go to my son’s football game to cheer him on and drop my daughter off at gymnastics on Monday night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My story is totally a team sport! There are three strong forces in my life that have contributed to my success. The first is God. There is no way possible that I could have accomplished all that I have without him. He truly orders my footsteps everyday. The second is my deceased mother. My mother was a minister, art teacher and also disabled. She showed me her perseverance, determination and self-motivation. She did not allow her disability to define her. She raised me to be the strong, bold, spiritual woman that I am today. Lastly, my husband, Michael has been an angel sent from God. He is the foundation of my family. He’s the strong silent type and has a wealth of knowledge and total love, devotion and dedication to our family. He has also allowed me to become the serial entrepreneur that I have become today, by allowing me to follow my dreams while he makes sure everything with our home life and two kids are running smoothly. I have nothing but gratitude for all of these people who have shaped me into a more selfless person that I am today.
